Camper and Volunteer Applications

Royal Family KIDS programs serve children ages 6-12 who have been or currently are in foster care. We offer summer camps and additional programs throughout the year.

Our programs are for foster children ages 6-12 to have fun being a kid in a safe environment. Each summer we offer two camps for children in the Sioux Empire, one based out of South Sioux Falls and one based out of Brandon. Children may register for one camp. Other programs throughout the year are open to any foster children ages 6-12 at the time of the event or kids who have attended a Royal Family KIDS Camp in the past.

South Dakota Camps include two serving foster children in the Sioux Empire and one serving foster children in the James River Valley. Our Sioux Empire chapter serves children in Southeast South Dakota in Minnehaha and Lincoln Counties.

Registration Opens March 1 with preference going to returning campers and then by seniority. Acceptance emails will be sent out by May 31 each year, with a waiting list for any camps that are full.

Each year over 300 volunteers join together through our local Royal Family KIDS Camps to serve foster children in South Dakota. There are many ways that you can help create a positive memory in the life of a child, including a kitchen volunteer, nurse, social worker, life guard, drama, music, wood shop, sports/outdoor activities, teen staff and more. We call our camp counselors Guides and they spend most of their time with their 2 assigned campers while staff members have the opportunity to interact with more of the kids.
